Pronounced like the color "green", the little town is serenely located
on the banks of Guadeloupe River and offers delightful little shops, bed
& breakfasts and historic buildings like the Gruene Mansion and old
Gruene Hall. On Market Day the German community comes alive with
an arts and crafts festival that attracts more than 100 gifted artists
and craftsmen from across Texas! Folks come from all over to buy handmade
jewelry, sculptures, furniture, pottery, spices, hot sauces and more.
All of the vendors are strictly juried. There are all kinds of
food vendors to fill your tummy, too! You won’t go away hungry!
